一、课程性质、目的和任务
1. 本课程为专业英语本科生必修的一门英语基础课程。
2. 通过培养学生掌握一定的阅读技巧提高学习英语的层次,
扩大英语词汇,获取一定的英语国家文化知识和其他有益信息，为英语其他技能的掌握打下良好的基础。
本课程是针对英语基本技能中的阅读技能而开设,目的是为了提高学生的综合阅读能力,能够读懂一定难度的英语文章,通过学习,学生能够掌握一般的阅读技巧。
二、教学内容及要求
1.根据课本内容，获取一定的知识。
2.通过阅读，培养学生的阅读效率，并增加一些相关词汇。
3.本课程共128个学时，两学年完成;教材分为四册，每学期一册
英语阅读(第一册)
一、基本内容：本册含盖了关于英语文化、科普知识、故事小说等基本内容，通过本册的阅读可以打开眼界，丰富学生的知识。
