1.adulterate /’dltret/ adj. 掺杂的，掺假的;不纯的;通奸的

【解词】ad-=to; ulter-=alter-=other(如alternative adj. 两者择一的, 供替代的); 所以adulterate 表示“加入其它东西的”，即“掺杂的，掺假的”。

【例句】If sellers cannot fetch a good price, they will limit the supply of what they offer, or adulterate the
