2、When my husband and I were having dinner at our favorite restaurant, Lenny, the piano player, asked, “This is your 13th wedding __1__, how did you do it?” I knew there was no simple answer, but at the __2__ of the approaching weekend, I wondered if one reason might be our ritual(仪式) of breakfast in bed every Saturday and Sunday.
__3__, it all started with the breakfast tray my mother gave us as a wedding gift. She 1 I had a disorder, and that I might never be able to have children 2 , completely unaware of the great 3 she was bringing to me in a matter of seconds. It was difficult to try and understand the effect such 4 could have upon a woman, especially a woman recently married. I felt as though all light inside me had been 5 permanently. As a young girl I had always 6 my children looking much like me, and my future husband, and that I would be a(n) 7 mother. Therefore, I spent quantities of time learning about my disorder. I talked with other women who had 8 it, and who had become mothers despite all difficulties. I believed in my heart that I could 9 this. It wasn’t until about a year into trying, after continuous 10 pregnancy tests, that hope started to die within me. My husband did everything he could to 11 me, and to make promises to me. 12 of it mattered when I was as deep into myself as I was. A friend gave me a(n) 13 to a natural, spiritual healer who 14 listened and coached, without prescribing(开药方). I enjoy doing so because I 1 keeping a diary in English is one of the effective ways to 2 our English writing ability.Compared with 3 forms of writing, it is shorter and 4 less time. It can help us to 5 the habit of thinking in English. 6 we persist in (坚持) this practice, gradually we’ll learn how to express ourselves in English. In keeping a diary in English, 7 can use the important phrases and sentences we’ve 8 in or out of English classes to describe our 9 , and this way we can master and use freely 10 we’ve learned, which will do good 11 us in English learning. But 12 we certainly run up against many difficulties. In the first place, it often happens that we have 13 finding proper words and phrases to give expression to our mind. Secondly, there 14 many idiomatic(惯用的) ways of saying things in Chinese. And it is extremely hard for us to put them 15 English properly. As far as I am concerned, my suggestion is that we 16 always have a notebook and a Chinese-English dictionary within easy reach. Whenever 17 beats (难倒)us, we can first put it down in our notebook and then look it up in our dictionary. We can also turn to our English teacher for 18 , if necessary. In short, I believe that it is of 19 use to keep a diary in English for the development of our 20 skills.1. A. think2. A. get3. No matter what style our music is, it is 59 that we sing the songs of joy, quietness and love. Though I may never make it back to piano lessons, it doesn’t60 that I’ve stopped making music.41.A. room42.A. so thatB. performanceC. instrumentB. becauseC. now thatD. stageD. for43.A. successes44.A. play45.A. angry46.A.
