My view on the Luxuries

The trade and spending on luxuries become much more usual and common than before in big cities of China. It seems that people would like to spend their money on expensive and well-known brands without knowing whether the product is really worth. The price of a wallet or a watch or a luggage speaks louder than its quality. Some people would save his salary and live a very simple life for 3 months only to buy a very expensive watch which is not very match his age. Can you imagine a 23 years old man wears a watch that cost all his 3 months’ salary? That’s crazy.

I think the most important reason is growing vanity. Luxuries always show themselves with diamonds, gold and silver and very good looking things. Advertisements always introduce luxuries with famous actors or actresses, good cars and beautiful lady. Everything around the luxury is perfect. That makes people think that using luxuries means someone is a rich man. That makes

people feel joyful and successful. People would say, “Hey, look at that watch, it’s Rolex!” If someone says something like that, it really makes the person who wears a Rolex feel he is admirable. I think luxuries are for rich people. If you are not rich, I do not think it’s a good idea for you to buy luxuries, especially in China. It’s quite a lot of money that you can buy a cheap car instead of buying a nice Louis Vuitton. Success is not judged by fortune and using luxuries or not, it should be judged by your experience and what you got. If you cannot afford a luxury, you can spend your money on something really helpful and important for your life.
