1. 能听懂、会说单词和词组 holiday, christmas, new year’s day, had, went, spring festival, mid-autumn festival, relative, delicious, dress up…
2. 能听懂、会说、会运用句型what’s your favoutite holiday? my favourite holiday is … did you … last …? yes, i did. / no, i didn’t. what do people usually do at/ on …? they usually …
3. 通过课文学习学会如何就某一节日展开话题进行讨论,并了解自己不熟悉的节日。
学习策略目标:
1. 培养学生整体阅读课文对话,理解对话含义的能力。
2.培养学生根据上下文语境,思考并推测单词及短语意思的能力。
3.培养学生通过阅读课文对话,总结主要句型并进行运用的能力。
情感态度目标:
1. 培养学生积极用英语表达的情感态度。
2. 培养学生热爱中国节日文化,同时对国外节日文化感兴趣的态度。

三、教学过程:
step one:
1 .t: hello, boys and girls. how are you today?
t: what’s your favoutite food/drink/animal/…?
出示板书: favourite 最喜欢的
t: now look at this word, listen: favourite. how to spell favourite?
(ask one group read it. )
now tell your deskmate something about your favourite things: practice in pairs.
my favourite colour is .
my favourite animal is .
my favourite food is .
my favourite subject is . 。
说明:此部分可以加深学生对favourite的理解,由此引出favourite holidays。
step two:
1. t: good! just now i knew a lot about your favourite things. but do you
know my favourite things? you may ask me:
what’s your favourite food/drink/animal/…?
2. do you know what’s my favourite holiday? guess.
书上春节图片内容: in my favourite holiday, i can have a big dinner with my family. i can eat lots of delicious food. i can visit my relatives and friends. (一句句出示图片) so what’s my favourite holiday, do you know now?
s: spring festival/春节 比较:festival and holiday (spell festival)
揭示课题: unit 6 holidays
3. i like spring festival. do you know when’s spring festival ? (边板书)
what do people usually do at spring festival?
let’s watch. (看前半部分光碟后回答此问题)
they usually…anything more? (新授词组have a big dinner with their family, eat lots of delicious food, visit their relatives and friends….)
3. t: great! then what did suhai do last spring festival?
of course i did. that means she visited / ate…
step three:
4. at the beginning it said the teacher and the students getting very excited .
why ?
s: because today is the 18th of december. christmas is coming.
(learn the new word: christmas 单词条,读完即放下)
t: christmas is a big and important holiday in western countries. do you like christmas? when’s christmas, do you know?
s: it’s on the 25th of december.
t:what holiday comes after christmas? what’s the chinese meaning of new year’s day? when’s new year’s day?
do you know what did david do last new year’s day?
now open your books, let’s read this part. ---he had a big lunch…
5. t: we know they are talking about holidays. but what’s ben’s favourite holidays? what’s yangling’s favourite holiday? (显示问题) let’s read their talking.
…(出示halloween, mid-autumn festival 教halloween和mid-autumn festival )ask: when’s halloween? we’ve learnt in grade 5. –dress up
t: when’s mid-autumn festival? what do people usually do at mid-autumn festival? now open your books ,let’s read the right half.

6. now let’s go back to our text. read the whole text again, and this time, try to match: what did the students do on different holidays last year? (显示练习)
please answer(学生完成练习并口头汇报)(强调: had, visited, went, watched)
说明:教师选取spring festival作为自己最喜爱的节日,利用ppt引起学生关注,看看老师在自己最喜欢的节日中做了些什么,引出新词。再用本课时的主要句型和过去时态进行谈论巩固单词,比较自然,同时可以启发学生对于春节的回忆,为最后谈论自己在春节做了什么做铺垫。
step four:

说明:课文的学习分4个阶段。1、听录音,梳理课文主要谈论的几个节日 2、阅读,培养学生根据上下文语境猜测词义,扫清阅读障碍 3、完成练习,让学生通过说的形式再次抓住课文主要信息,强调动词过去式 4、相当于复述部分课文内容,让学生根据已经整理出来的主要句型进行高一层次的谈论,带领学习如何从对话中学会谈论节日的主要方法。5、最后从中国的所有假日中拓展,通过自己对最喜爱的节日的描述(笔头)加深学生对语言的运用能力,学生之间,学生与老师之间可以相互交流信息,同时渗透中外节日文化的差异,让学生学会介绍自己喜欢的节日,听说读写兼顾。
