Describe a subject that you studied that you thought was interesting. You should say: what the subject was what your teacher was like how long you studied this subject
and explain why you thought it was interesting. 前考官范文:
Ok then, well the subject I’d like to talk about is Economics, because it was one of the few classes that I actually enjoyed, and this was in no small part due to the fact that we had a really great teacher for it.
And as for what makes me say that, well first of all, he had a knack of being able to make all of his classes really interesting, and he did this by always asking us questions and getting us to think deeply about all kinds of things related to Economics. So for example, he would often start class by telling us a story that was in some way connected to what we would be going through that day, after which he would then ask us how we thought the story ended, and this really kind of helped arouse our curiosity in the subject.
So that’s one thing, and another thing I liked about him was the
-赵诚作品
-赵诚作品
fact that he seemed to take a genuine interest in all of us, and I could see this in the way he spoke and listened, because you know, it’s pretty easy to tell whether or not a teacher really cares about teaching, and with him I could tell straight away that he enjoyed teaching us and had our best interests at heart.
But anyway, as for how long I studied Economics for, well basically, it was for two years during high school, so it wasn’t really for all that long, which was a bit of a pity, because as I mentioned earlier, I really enjoyed the classes. And one more thing to mention about them, which I don’t think I’ve said yet, is that we hardly ever went through the text book, which was such a refreshing change from all the other classes I had. So instead, our teacher, who was called Mr. Guise, by the way, would give us things like newspaper clippings or magazine articles to read and discuss, and by doing this, we came to realize just how significant a role Economics played in our lives. So as you can imagine, this made the classes so much more fun than they otherwise would have been if we’d just ploughed through the text book, and I’m very grateful to Mr. Guise for this.
购买的海外商品Describe a product from another country that you bought.
You should say: what it was
-赵诚作品
-赵诚作品
where you bought it what you use it for
and explain why you bought it. 前考官范文:
Ok, well the first thing that came to mind when I saw this topic was olive oil, because I bought a bottle of it not that long ago, and if I’m not mistaken, I think it was from either Italy or Spain, so that’s what I’ve decided to talk about.
And as for where I got it, well, it was actually just from my local supermarket, because it’s now started selling quite a few imported products, which I’m really happy about, as I always enjoy trying new things, especially stuff from other countries.
And with regard to what I use the olive oil for, well, I’d say I use it for most of my cooking now, because it goes well with pretty much everything, especially bread and pasta, as you probably know, so I’m getting through it quite quickly, and I think I’m actually turning into a bit of an addict!
But anyway, as for what made me decide to buy it, well firstly, it’s apparently meant to be really good for you, so it’s basically a lot healthier than most other kinds of cooking oil. And another thing to mention would be that I remember tasting some olive oil at a Western restaurant I went to a couple of weeks ago, and I liked it so much that I
-赵诚作品
-赵诚作品
made a mental note to get some when I next went to the supermarket. So yeah, I guess these would be the main reasons, and even though it’s quite a bit more expensive than ordinary cooking oil, I reckon it’s definitely worth it.
1.Which is the most popular place for shopping in your home-town? Answer: Actually, there are many places in my town which are famous for shopping. They are well-known for different reasons. For instance, Rajpur Road is famous for various brands outlets and designer wear shops whereas Paltan Market and Indira market are the places which are popular among the crowd for the affordability and vast collection of clothes along with essential commodities. Cannaught Place is known for high tech electronic gadgets such as mobiles and computers etc.
2.Why do you think people like to visit shopping centers?
I think it brings a lot of benefits for the people when they visit a shopping center because in the big shopping malls, different types of products are available at one place itself. You can find almost all types of brands in the same place and thus, it becomes very easy for you to choose the right one. Apart from this, you get many discount offers and shopping vouchers to choose from, which are not even available in the market. So, these are some of the reasons why people visit shopping centers.

3.Do you like shopping on the internet?
Answer A: Absolutely! I love to shop on the internet because online shopping offers many advantages over traditional shopping. First and foremost, some online stores have amazing collections for every age group. Secondly, we can buy anything through the net without going to crowded marketplaces and it’s a hustle free process. Thirdly, return policies have made it more attractive. Last but not the least, these stores have competitive prices for leading brands.
Answer B: Well, I am not very fond of online shopping. And the reason behind this is my poor experience. Most of the products which I bought through the internet were defective and duplicate. My credit card information was also misused. So, I always prefer traditional shopping over the internet.
4.Are there certain kinds of shops that are becoming more popular? Well, I suppose shops that sell computers and computer games and also those that sell mobile phones. There seem to be more and more of them opening up. I suppose it’s not surprising. But I find these shops rather boring personally.
5.What disadvantages do you think there may be to an increase in consumerism?
-赵诚作品
-赵诚作品
For me, one of the main disadvantages is that increased consumerism seems to emphasise the difference between rich and poor people. Also another disadvantage is that many people already work too hard and with the increasing consumerism they drive themselves harder and harder just to make money to buy things they don’t actually need, or have time to enjoy.
6.In what ways do you think advertising affects people's attitudes? The more advertising there is, the more people seem to want. And they never satisfied with what they’ve got. I suppose it’s really depends what you mean by advertising. Some of it could be seen as socially useful. For example, anti-smoking advertising campaigns.
7.In what ways do you think shopping may change in the future? Well, I’m sure there will be an increasing online shopping, because more and more people have access to home computers. I also think that many small shops in the centre of town will close down, and bigger and bigger supermarkets will open on the outskirts. In some ways it may be more convenient, but I don’t know if these changes will really improve our lives.
1.How can we encourage people to eat more healthily?
I think the best approach is to have everything in moderation … processed food won’t kill you if you only eat it occasionally … but people should also be encouraged to eat a balanced diet … try to cook
-赵诚作品
-赵诚作品
fresh ingredients at home a few times a week …
2. Do you think people enjoy their food as much as they should? I don’t know really … I suppose it’s true that people will often eat a quick snack because they’re bored not because they’re dying of hunger … and often they just bolt it down and don’t savour it … so yes … perhaps we could take more time over our food …
3. Do you think cooking is a pleasure or a chore for people who have busy lives?
Well … whether you follow a recipe or make something up as you go along … I think cooking is a very creative process … and cooking for other people is a particular pleasure … there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing people you love tucking into something you’ve cooked yourself …
4.How technology has changed the way we prepare our food these days?
Technology and digital media influence the taste, appearance and experience of food more than ever before. More consumers are thinking about how food looks, and how they can make it look, as evidenced by the huge number of photos hitting social media networks every day. This trend has helped democratise culinary creativity; we can’t all enjoy foods at top restaurants, but we can all share the inspiration for our own cooking. With the rise of apps and social media has come a rise in
-赵诚作品
-赵诚作品
self-quantification, and this has entered the food domain. We can monitor our sleep and how we run, but we can monitor exactly what our food intake is as well.A lot of these gadgets and tools are helping us to decide what we are eating. 若干高分表达

Topic:Describe a memorable wedding that you attended You should say :
-赵诚作品
-赵诚作品
When it was Who was there What you did th ere
and explain why you think it was successful Sample answer:
Ok,well I've actually been to quite a few weddings, because I'm now at the age when a lot of my friends are starting to get married ,so it was kind of difficult choosing which one to describe, but I guess probably the easiest for me to talk about would be the most recent one I went to,which was that of a neighbor of mine.
Also, what I should probably make clear to you first, though,is that weddings here in China tend to just involve the wedding reception,as you may know, without the signing of marriage documents, which is usually done in private several months before the wedding, so it's just the reception which I'm going to talk about.
And as for who was there, well,I couldn't tell you everyone, because there were absolutely loads of people, you know, the hall was pretty packed,so my guess would be that there were probably something like 250 to 300 guests, and if I'm not mistaken, it seemed to be that the majority were friends and relatives of the bride and groom, although I also noticed that they had invited quite a few of their colleagues from work as well, because one of them, who I think was her boss, went up on
-赵诚作品
-赵诚作品
stage to make a speech at some point.
So regarding how I felt at the wedding, well,to put it simply, it was a really wonderful wedding, and there were some parts of it that moved me quite a lot, such as when the bride broke down in tears when she was on stage thanking her parents for all the support they had given her.It was also really clear to see how much the bride and groom loved each other,as they couldn't take their eyes off each other the whole evening,so,I was really happy for them and was glad that I made it to their wedding.
That's pretty much it,I think,so thanks a lot for listening. 1Q. How often do you read books?
Answer: Unfortunately, I don't read books very often. When I was younger my mom used to tell me stories from different books so this is the reason that I am aware of the fairytales. The only book I have read is 'Twilight' by Stephenie Meyer when I was 15 years old and the motivation to do that was the movie with the same name which was released in 2008. From another perspective, though, I read almost all of my books when I was at university but I was forced to do that. So I would come to the conclusion that, I don't read books in my free time but only when I have to.
Tip: You can either say that you don't or you do read books. If you are in the first category refer to the reasons why you don't do that. For
-赵诚作品
-赵诚作品
example, you can say that you don't have time, many interesting books are expensive, you can't read online books because it's tiring and anything else comes to your mind.
If you are in the second category, just think of the kinds of books you have read and try to describe them in a few words. You can also include your university books.
2Q. How books can impact on a man's life?
Answer: Books are good sources of knowledge and they actually enlighten us. Reading a book is a really good and helpful way whenever you are bored or stressed out. It is preferable to me reading a book than to surfing the internet. Going further, in this way people can develop their imagination and nurture their mind and thinking skills. Moreover, there is a possibility for someone to change their view about specific things such as religious issues, gender parity, culture and so on and become more open-minded by reading books. For instance, somebody who isn't romantic may change his opinion after reading a book with a romantic story or someone who is narrow-minded and biassed may change their attitude. Finally, it's a good and effective way to practice a foreign language and this is something I did before coming to England. 3Q. Name some of the famous writers of your country?
Answer: Answer: One of the most famous English writers is JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter fantasy series. Her books have
-赵诚作品
-赵诚作品
gained worldwide attention, won multiple awards, and were sold more than 400 million copies so far. John Milton whose poetry has been seen as the perfect poetic expression in the English language for four centuries is also from my country. Agatha Christie who is reputably known throughout the world as the \"Queen of Crime\" and Samuel Johnson who is known as 'arguably the most distinguished man of letters in English history' are only some of the many meritorious English authors.
Tip: You can talk about a/few writer(s) of your own country who is successful and well-known even worldwide. They might be contemporary writers or might be from past centuries. 4Q. Have you ever thought about writing a book?
Answer: To be honest I haven't. My writing skills aren't so good so if I had decided to do something like that it would have been a moderate work. In fact, I wouldn't want that because I am a perfectionist. In addition, my imagination isn't that vivid to create a story myself so I would jump to the conclusion that I am not the proper person for this activity. Besides, my favourite types of books are biographies so this is the only plot that I could have written. However, I prefer sharing my personal stories and experiences with my family and friends in verbal from than written form.
Tip: You can also give a semi-negative answer by saying that you
-赵诚作品
-赵诚作品
haven't written a book but you would like to and give examples and your idea about the story. You can also say that you have thought about writing a book and refer to its content. Finally, you can say that you have written a book if so give details when you wrote it, what was the story and how you were inspired to write this book.
5Q. How reading books is different from watching movies? Answer: It is quite different indeed! While reading a book you can imagine the characters and the scenes you are reading about and adjust them to your desires. Everyone makes an image about the main characters' outer appearance, inner traits and so on and personally when I read a book I have a specific actor or actress in my mind. So, I would say that books give someone the chance to make stories based on their personality.
Movies, on the other hand, have some standards. There is the visual element which is absent in books and it can be either good or bad because in some cases watching a movie is much better than reading a book but the opposite can happen as well. Personally, I have seen movies having read the books before and some of them weren't as good as I expected.
